Because it was basically marketed as being HALO but better and on the PS2. It wasn't.
Did you somehow miss Sony's marketing department touting it as a Halo killer for two years straight? E3, Magazine covers, the whole deal?Quote:

It was? Didn't get to see the US ads but it sounds more like something magazines would say to sell a couple of extra copies. Either way we all know that the two wasn't that much alike.
edit:
Yea I did, chalk it up to not caring about the game that much and living in europe.Quote:

Yup. In reality, however, it ended up being nothing at all like Halo- it was more like a clunky, crappy Medal of Honor clone.Quote:

Are you trying to wipe out any credibility you have with a statement like that? If so, congrats. Mission accomplished.Quote:
The PS2 is a pixel-filled, ram deficient, hard drive lacking dinosaur. I play the games in spite of the darn thing, usually wishing they were on Xbox the whole time.
I dunno how much Sony actually marketed it as a Halo killer. I never saw a Killzone ad that said "Watch out Halo, here comes Killzone." The "Halo Killer" crap was started by US gaming publications and perpetuated by fanboys. Killzone really plays nothing at all like Halo. Half-Life has more in common with Halo than Killzone.Quote:

More importantly, Killzone's got amazing atmosphere that really draws you into the war of the world. Halo's got a very solid single player game that's very overshadowed by the much better multiplayer aspect. Killzone's got a great single player that takes a very different approach than Halo. If you go into Killzone expecting to play Halo on PS2, you're not going to find what you want. I wasn't expecting to like Killzone much at all until I started playing it, but I'd say it's a very worthy game.
I'll defend Killzone. It's good. Best FPS on the Ps2. But then again....I don't know if that's really as good as it sounds.
