I was wondering about that... who exactly can you marry? Only somebody from another country, to strengthen ties, or anybody not of your sex who is compatible enough with you?

I don't remember exactly how it works in IX, but there were a couple of ways in VIII. You could wait for certain hot chicks to appear at the Inn, and then give them gifts (rare artifiacts, items, jewellery) ) and visit them all the time to forge a relationship. There were plenty of other (non-officer) characters who float around who, if you forge a relationship with them could teach you rare skills or give you powerful items.Quote:

But doing so gained muchas respect from the people and made me a hero.
Wives are pretty cool, since a good one will teach you kickass skills you can't get anywhere else and give you rare artifacts as gifts, and sometimes even find money for your war effort.
Bumping this since X is coming out soon.
Does anyone know what X is going to be like compared to previous games? I'm hoping it won't be as simplified as IX was.
From what I have heard, X is supposed to be what you liked from VIII and IX mixed together. If true, then I'm very interested in it. I ended up not being totally impressed with IX, so I either want to get X and have it be awesome, or go back and check out VIII.
If you want this guy did a write up recently about getting into these games and makes notes mainly on 8 and 9, with a lead in to 10. This blog. He also experimented with Kessen III.
Yes, I know this was a bumped topic, but this blog talks a little about 10 and the gameplay it should encompass.
Yeah, the more I read about X the more excited I become. It definitely looks like a step up from IX.Quote:

Some pretty cool new features...for one, you actually fight inside cities rather than just taking control once the gate falls. And they've introduced debates as well, which take place between characters in the form of a logic puzzle type mini game.
The debates interest me the most. The concept seems like something that should have been introduced long ago, though I'm still not sure about the execution.
Super-sweet! As I said, I loved Rot3K III.

Koei announced they will release Sangokushi DS (Romance of Three Kingdoms DS) for Nintendo DS in Japan in September, for 5040 yen. The DS version will be based on Romance of Three Kingdoms III, with a number of new elements, such as WiFi battle, enhanced graphics, mini games, downloadable content and touch panel support.
If there's ever been a console series that could benefit from touch screen controls, this is it.
