Besides, in his last post Andrew agreed that he thought he was wittier and more clever than he actually is, admitted to being a willing participant in gay sex, and contridicted himself. Honestly, I don't think there's anything I can further add to his posts that would make him look worse than what he does to himself.

I saw more little kids in the theater for Blade 2 than for any other movie I can remember. And that was one violent, gory flick.

I can beat that, I was sitting behind a family of four when Starship Troopers came out. They were real troopers though, they held out through the shower scene (covering their children's eyes of course) and made it all the way to the part where the flying bugs sliced that guys head. That's when the left.

You'd think it'd be a given to people that a Paul Verhoeven movie wouldn't be family friendly.

I hope the children were as shocked as I was when the guy got his face literally shot off in the training scene!

Actually, there were a good bit of toys released in conjunction with the movie... and not stuff for the collectors' market, I mean stuff you'd find in Kay-Bee next to the Ninja Turtles figures. So, yeah, you can't really blame them for thinking it would be at least a somewhat tame R-rated movie, like T2.

What were the kids doing in there in the first place?

One of my buddies actually bought one of those Starship Troopers alien toys, a gigantic spider type thing. He took it apart and put it back together differently, adding modeling clay for new stuff and then used it for a Warhammer 40K Tyranid army.

EDIT: I think it was a toy version of the bug in the pic Dolemite posted.

Treating your kids or talking to them in that manner is one thing but watching a violent movie is another, I grew up watching Death Wish with my grand father and im fine.

My kids, 7 & 5 watch most things we watch.. my son loves Blade for example however I didnt take them with us to see Passion of The Christ nor do they watch most gore flicks we watch.

Im fine with some violence as thats what most of us grew up on, I restrict the viewing when I feel its something that will have them up all night for the next week or two with bad dreams, and if my child told me while at a movie that they wanted to leave and they were obviously being affected by the movie I would leave.
