arjue, I have a heart, but the parents in extreme denial, and wasting a ton of court time and taxpayer money. Their recent "she tried to say I want to love" thing was just tragic. She could've been trying to say "I want my MTV" for all we know.

Ok, because you seem to have missed it again, they aren't paying for it. The malpractice settlement they won is basically gone, so it's you and I that are paying for it.

Her husband has the right to say something, and she has the right to say something. She had said that in a situation like this she wouldn't want to live, and her husband is the one who has the power. She wasn't a child when this happened, either... I'm not seeing why her parents should have more say than her husband or her own, stated wishes, and the courts have agreed with this every single time.

And arjue, I have a heart, but they're treating her like a toy they don't want to give up rather than a human being who's gone beyond all hope of recovery and deserves to just go peacefully. And just to add insult to injury, she'll probably die while her parents are making a public statement on dozens of TV and radio stations with an armed guard as her only company.

How is a feeding tube and hydration NOT life support?

Beats the Hell out of me. It's not a natural way of living, so it's still an artificial means of being kept alive, something she said she didn't want to be. I do enjoy seeing folks grasp at straws as to how it is a natural means of living. I just saw a Headline News crawl stating that she'll be getting an IV put into her. I don't know how accurate that is though.

Everytime I see this thread bumped, I go in expecting a "Terry Schiavo died today at 4:59AM"
