I actually found that page to be fairly unbiased and informative concerning the whole Schiavo topic. He doesn't pretend to say which side is right... just what is happening.

(My own two cents on the matter... in my opinion, what should happen is what Terri would have wanted. The husband asked the courts to intervene and decide what she would want. The court ruled that based on the evidence, she would NOT have wanted to live this way... and this decision has been upheld through several appeals up all the way to the Florida Supreme Court. Therefore, until the family can produce a signed and notarized document or a videotape of her proclaiming she would want to be kept alive... I think the feeding tube should be removed.)

I understand the stance the parents are coming from. It's their daughter, they have and will always have an unrealistic vision of their child and no parent wants to bury their kid. I can't say I'd be happy if it was someone I knew, but it's probably for the best.

Isn't there a more humane way to die, though? Starving to death doesn't seem that great an option.

Don't get me wrong, I'm with you. The point I was trying to make (which looking back I wasn't clear enough on) is that her well being is not the issue here. If they keep her alive, its wrong in the way you described, but its not gonna do her any more harm. IMO the two parties are only concerned with their own feelings.

The actions of the republicans in congress also make me want to puke.

And the Christians fighting to keep her alive make me want to puke the most. If she were to have died naturally, she would have died years ago. Besides, if Heaven is so great and that Christ guy is chilling there, why are they so opposed to her going there?

Seriously though, it seems like they're doing everything in a pretty humane way. It's just too hard for the parents, I guess, which is understandable.
