It's exactly what I expected. I have no idea why comic book fans are freaking out and screaming about how much they hate this.

Makes him look kinda cuddly, they're like eccentric pajamas. I was hoping for more than basic tights to help him look more like he's powerful (at least like Alex Ross' Kingdom Come), kind of like how they altered the X-Men uniforms in the recent movies. Even the FF movie seems to have their characters fit their costumes better then this guy does. Maybe I'll change my mind when I see it in motion.
But then, I've grown a personal hatred for the tights design of most American comics in the last few years, so I'm kind of biased in that regard.

I found this while trying to find more pictures - this was the suit design for the Tim Burton "Superman Lives" movie that is hopefully very very dead and will never see the light of day. The original concept was to start with the normal blue and red suit, then kill him and have him come back with this design (which pretty much resembles suit he wore in the Return of Superman series).
This current suit looks okay, although I agree the blue should be darker - even if this is to take place immediately after bright-blue Superman 2. Just be glad they didn't change the outfit too much, as that never seems to work anyway.

I don't really care if they change it too much just so long as it's something that looks good on an actual person. I think that black one you showed would look pretty good, although if they weren't going to do the death and return of Superman that I don't see it making too much sense for him to have such a dark and drastic change of outfit.Quote:

I think that the 'S' shield should be bigger and the dark red should be a lighter red instead of that crimson.
A darker blue would have been better with the red too....and the Superman symbol on the belt is somewhat redundant...but otherwise I'm liking it the more I see it. Routh loooks pretty young but depening on more shots he could look older. I have no problems with his build as he's pretty buff especially at the shoulders.

The more I look at it, the more I dont like the 'S' insignia on the current costume. It looks generic like something you'd put on a Superman birthday cake or something, and like it could fall of his chest any minute.
