This is my most played game on Xbox Live. We should play together sometime (on the 360 of course).
This thread needs a bump so I can say:
Fuck you EA.
First I try to hop into some split-screen races with my buddy, and immediately I recognize that the “takedown glitch” is still in here (I played this a few times on a friend’s 360 back when it first came out), and despite what I’m sure has been a lot of griping from what little playing community remains, EA apparently doesn’t give a fuck about fixing it.
This means that anytime I take someone out, I have a pretty good chance of crashing myself, since the game idiotically feels the need to switch to a replay of my opponent crashing instead of letting me continue my driving with the normal camera.
Ok, I can deal with crashing every now and then, since I kind of suck anyway, let’s just go to the next track…oh wait, I only get one fucking track to race on out of the box!
Well, maybe there’s some sort of code that unlocks all of the cars/tracks…after checking Gamefaqs, it turns out there’s nothing, so if I want to pop the game in and race with more than two shitty cars on this one track, I need to plow through the single player game? Fuck that shit.
Let’s try online then. At least then we’ll be able to play more than one fucking track, and won’t have to deal with the annoying AI. Oh wait, looks like only one Xbox live account per machine can play online. Furthermore, I need a separate, “EA account” just to get the game online.
Well, this wouldn’t be so bad were it not for the fact that I can’t even connect to a fucking online game (much less host one)! Apparently I am not alone either, as a quick Google search reveals that there are quite a number of players for whom Burnout Revenge remains the only 360 game that will not work online.
Typical EA bullshit.
In fact, I can’t think of a single EA game I’ve played recently that didn’t have a multitude of online issues (namely, Madden ‘06/’07 and Battlefield 2/Special Forces).
Since it’s had a bit more time in the cooker, I really hope that Burnout 5 turns out a lot better than this obvious rush-job.
You can turn off the replay of takedowns in the options menu.
don't ruin the EA rage.
when itried hopping online the other day with revenge, i was not connecting to lobbies, at all, and the times that i would i would get kicked out. Kicking people out in custom games ok fine, but ranked matches? Apparently since youre new to the game and unranked people always kick out.
I don't play on ranked matches much in anything unless I'm really into it. That said, I don't really have any problems connecting at all.
I've tried to play ranked matches in GRAW 2 and I'm almost always kicked out. Its pretty lame. Are console shooter people always this ridiculous, or is it more because space on the servers are limited to 16. I rarely have these kind of problems with PC games.
I think it's less of a console-shooter problem and more of an Xbox Live problem, reason being, Xbox Live is serious business, especially when online rankings and achievment points are concerned.
Not sure how my friend and I overlooked this (unless the option was added in a later patch or something), but thanks for the info; I'll give it a shot.
After doing some more research, it looks like my online issues might be stemming from the fact that my network connection's NAT is set to "Strict" (thanks to my overprotective campus connection), which means that I can only play with users whose NAT status is "Open."
We were having some trouble with Worms last night too (and I've had trouble with the past in UNO), so I have a feeling that this is part of my problem.
I have my NAT set as open, explains why you could connect to my UNO game.
Well, I'm down for Burnout on 360 or regular Xbox if anyone wants to add me and play.
Anyone know how to get four star rankings on really short Preview Laps?
Like in the Unsafe Preview Lap, I have no problem driving fast enough to receive the Gold medal, but the race is so short (55 seconds) that I don't have enough time to drive reckless enough to get my rating past three stars.
I hold the boost button down the entire race, drive on the wrong side of the road whenever possible, traffic check the majority of the cars, launch off both ramps on either side of the first alleyway, and drift around every sharp corner. What else can I do?
