I doubt it. I bet there will be a mad rush for the first shipment or 2, but by christmas I feel 360's will be all over the place.Quote:

I really really REALLY doubt 360 will be easy to find this Xmas. The damn Xbox and PS2 were hard to find last year for fuck sake. I'm telling you, good luck. My little ass store has a bunch of reserves and people here are cheaper than the bitches on this board.
BTW, IGN has a much bigger version of the newest PGR3 video as of 9/29. OMG!
I just keep thinking of those idiots on G4 TV.com,who keep saying that the 360 is not that much more powerful than the xbox.PGR3,Gears of war,Oblivion, and Chrome hounds(at least from what i've seen)clearly show thats not the case.Quote:

They had no 360s on the floor to play, but an hour long presentation that showed just about everything about the new UI, Xbox Live, XBL Arcade, the media functions, and two actual games that were loaded up from behind the scenes. All of the media and Live functions have been talked up a storm (there were some interesting things they mentioned, however, like how your iPod charges while hooked up to the 360, the XBL Arcade games you can re-downlolad after purchase anytime, and you can use any wireless network adapter and not just MS' $100 one)
The games: well they showed PGR3 and Kameo. First the less impressive of the two: Kameo. This game looked very good. Just the sheer amount of effects being thrown around was great. The section was the same they'd shown before, when you're trying to enter the castle during a huge battle with flying dragons everywhere. This game was clearly well beyond current gen in every way. The screen the games was displayed on wasn't an actual screen, but a projection screen, so there was some weird pixelization on some moving lines. I'm sure that has more to do with that than anything. Suffice it to say it looks like it's on its way to becoming a great launch game.
Now PGR3. THIS GAME LOOKED FREAKING UNBELIEVEABLE!!! They showed the NYC level, of course (they also showed the Tokyo level which also looed fantastic. They even let some little kid play). But the guy played it at night. And with all the buildings lights lit up, and the night time sky, it looked just incredible. The motion-blur truly is the next greatest thing. Games will look signifigantly more real with it; 30 or 60 fps, it doesn't matter anymore.
Now it wasn't a new build, so it wasn't totally optimized, and it appeared to slow down just a tad depending what was going on on-screen. And the lighting on the cars made them stand out just a bit more than I would have liked, but when this game impressed, it really impressed!
The cockpit view was a marvel. The rear and side-view mirrors were fully functional and the front windshield even reflected the enviornment! It was ever so slight, not too distinguishable, but it was there! That's besides all the blemishes of dirt and such. Just...OMGWTFBBQ!! And the photo mode is simply scrumptious. You can pause the game at any time and take a photo. Lots of options, like adding or taking away the motion blur or moving the camera practially anywhere around the car. People in the audience were gasping at this demo, and for good reason.
I wish I stayed longer after the presentation, but I had to leave. There were other games there for all the consoles. Like that Sonic racing game(looked okay, but the person playing kinda sucked and never got any good amount of speed going) Phantasy Star Universe (I'm definitely getting the PC version, as the PS2 is showing its age; looked good besides, a signifigant upgrade from PSO) Serious Sam 2, Far Cry Instincts, Battlefield 2 on Xbox, that Spartan: Total War Sega game, and some more that I can't remember off the top of my head. I unfortunately just walked through as I didn't have too much time and wanted to see the 360 stuff.
kinda trival but...Quote:

meaning liek in GT3 & GT4 on the buildings they have glass windows & inside you can see is a 3D room so it looks more detailed then say PGR 2 which just had flat buildings with fake reflections pasted on the windows
also did you notice how many cars on screen?
it's not that 360 isn't powerful enough it's that hardly ANY games taking any advantage of itQuote:

Condemend/Quake 4/Full Auto etc don't look any better then some of the good stuff on Xbox other then maybe higher resolution
even Gears of War so far has shown a terrible framerate & resolution that doesn't look so good, so nothing to get wowed about 360 YET
Who really cares? When your flying by buildings at 120mph I really won't care whether there is a rendered couch on the inside of a building. Also, I'm pretty sure the insides of buildings arn't rendered by any means in GT3 or GT4, I could very well be wrong though.Quote:
