E3 Predictions

I'm trying to avoid working on a nasty SQL data normalization problem, so I figured I'd post my predictions for E3 this year:

Xbox/Xbox 2:

• Xbox 2 will not be backwards compatible.
• Xbox 2 will not be called Xbox 360.
• The system will be playable at the show.
• It will be fugly.
• Launch Titles will be Perfect Dark Zero; Half Life 2, PGR3, NFL 2K6, Burnout 4, Halo 2 Redux, Tecmo Bowl, and an RPG of some sort.
• Price will be $299.99, and it will launch in November.

PS3:

• The PS3 will not actually be playable at E3.
• Sony most likely will not have a real unit at the show. Everything will be shown on development stations.
• Titles in development will be Gran Turismo 5 and Duke Nukem Forever.
• PS 2 titles will look even longer-in-the-tooth after the graphics demos of the PS3 and the gameplay demos of the Xbox 2.

Nintendo:

• Nintendo will show off a new Gameboy to rival the PSP.
• Mario Party 7, Mario Soccer, Mario Basketball, Mario MX Extreme, and Mario Jai-Lai will be announced for this fall/winter. Samus will guest star in Gamecube release of Super Monkey Ball 3.
• The Revolution will be so revolutionary, people won't "get it".

Anyone else have some predictions (serious or not)?

Nintendo will talk about innovation, while showing off video for more Zelda, Mario and Starfox.

Microsoft will talk about software and how it makes things nice and all. The system will look shitty.

Sony will have renders showing off what the games might look like. The systems design will be slick and final.

Don't forget to mention Nintendogs or the vibrator shaped microphone! lOLz amirite?!

Um, actually, we're kinda bashing all three big players. But I guess accusing Sony of showing off vaporware/renders and Microsoft of being incapable of producing a 'sexy' looking system isn't bashing.

Oh, and the mic was shaped like a tampon (according to Sl|p's last thread), and Nintendogs rules.

There won't be an NFL 2k6, unless you're referring to Madden.

I think Microsoft will announce a launch lineup of 15-18 games for the Xbox with the majority coming from in-house and EA. Microsoft games will be Perfect Dark Zero, a new Bungie title that's not Halo, new PGR or Rallisport, and some random titles from their lesser talented dev studios.

In the year 3000, they will serve bad food and cheap beer at their press conference, which will be moved back to that theater just outside of downtown. They'll do a reality series spoof on Survivor or something, where Nintendo is the first one to be voted off.

Sony will show videos of the PS3 in action which will look slightly better than the Xbox 2. They'll distribute specs in a folder and boast blu-ray as the future. Their concentration will be the PSP first, PS2 second, and PS3 third. Of course, most of the news reported will be on PS3.

In the year 3000, Kaz Hirai will bore the audience to tears with sales figures, boring industry talk, and poor public speaking skills before finally getting to the games and the PS3. He'll then proclaim himself the anti-Jobs for his complete lack of ability to get anyone excited about anything.

Nintendo will somehow hold the most exciting press conference as they do every year. For about 90 minutes, it'll seem like they can do no wrong, and that everyone else in the industry has completely lost touch with what gaming is. They'll show brief videos of the Revolution after having shown videos of Zelda, Advance Wars, Geist, a new Mario game, and a couple games no one's heard of yet.

In the year 3000, people will realize during the press conference how full of shit Nintendo is, instead of 30 minutes after getting their free stuff by the pool at Hollywood and Highland. Grown "men" will also cry and proclaim Nintendo "THE WINNAR!#@$!!!" during the preview for the new Mario game.

And, I'll be going to Vegas instead of E3, so have fun everyone who's going. :)

1) XBox 2 will be playable and will look like current PC games.

2) Capcom won't show a new SF game.

3) A teaser for Halo 3 will be shown- hey, it comes out on the PS3 launch day in 2006...Bungie might have something cooked up in time.

4) Nintendo will not show a GBA successor this year, but will make significant mention about their plans.

5) The DS will be Nintendo's focus this year.

6) Celebreties will pretend they give a shit about games.
