So who is immune from making mistakes? Who is a messenger of Allah? Is Osama bin Laden? Is the clerics who say women cant show their face or support killing Israelis and Americans? Are the guys who videotape beheadings while screaming "Allah Ackbar!"? What about the clerics that call for the death of a guy like Salman Rushdie for writing a book or the ones that call for violent uprisings because of a 10-sentence paragraph in a crummy 3rd-rate news rag about how a Koran may or may not have been flushed down a toilet (and investigation shows a prisoner did it)?

Yes Islam and Christianity have quite a few things in common because they are both Abrahamic faiths and evolved from the same trunk. The religions really are more similar than different.

Its quite important to discuss religion in an open manner so that we can see common similarities and where religions can get dangerous. But you need an open mind, something that people with strong faiths generally dont have.

LoL , didnt you say you studied religions ?, in islam messengers of allah are his prophets Mohammad (P.B.U.H) is not the only prophet , in islam Jesus Christ , Noah , Ibrahim , Adam are all messengers of Allah , like i said before Bin Laden is a fag me personally i have nothing against america (the land that gave us metallica :D ) as for isrealis i have no comments on them

Yes I am not saying Mohammed, Jesus Christ, Noah, Abraham, Moses, these people are wrong. Im saying that they wrote down the book, the book that is read by imperfect people, people like you or I, and they may be misinterpreted over the centuries. This is what happens to all religions, and all religions change over the years even if the books remain the same. This is a simple fact.

This is why the prophetic tradition came into play in the Jewish religion, people who tell anyone, even a great King like Daniel, that he is not following God's law.

Im not interested in arguing, just saying, I dont hate Muslims but when Muslims are doing bad stuff they should be called on it, just like Christians should be, or Hindus, or Buddhists, or anything. The problem lies with the individuals of the religion and they should seek to make it as good as it was meant to be. If they are using the religion to commit bad things it is doubly worse. For example, I get FURIOUS when I hear so-called Christians talking about how God hates fags and Jesus doesnt love fags or black people or whatever.

I agree with this. God doesn't hate homosexuals or people with higher melatonin counts. Regarding the former, though, He does hate the practice of homosexuality. We tend to fuse the practice of something with the person, where God does not do that, at least until they've left this earth. At that point, guilt or pardon from sin comes into play depending of if you have received Jesus or not.

Well, the simplest answer I can give for that is that God did not design humans to engage in homosexual activity. Humans were designed from the get-go for monogomous heterosexual relationships, as per Genesis 1:24. This was the archetype that humans are to follow. However, with the entrance of sin, humanity took the recreational sex act and began to use it however it saw fit, which completely breaks with the intention of sex. God considers the act of sex outside of heterosexual marriage an act of lust, plain and simple. I must say though, after reading the Book, God loathes all sin, and doesn't have any 'pet peeve' sins that get to Him more than the others. He is jealous, as He Himself admits, but at the end of the day, sin to God is sin. Sin can be described as treason against God, meaning actively saying, doing, thinking, or feeling something that goes against the nature of God. 'Confession' then can be desribed as admitting that you view sin as God does, and 'righteousness' in this sense is acting on and putting into practice God's view of things, and living accordingly.

No one has asked it, but I'm going to say it right here and now: Sodom and Gomorrah were NOT destroyed for homosexuality alone. Homosexuality was but one of many sinful facets that God destroyed those cities for. Ezekiel 16:49-50 informs us that Sodom and Gomorrah were "... arrogant, overfed and unconcerned; they did not help the poor or needy. They were haughty and did detestable things before me. Therefore I did away with them as you have seen". Yes, the U.S. does indeed suffer from many of the symptoms Sodom and Gomorrah died from, however the U.S. has yet to reach the kind of mass penetration of sin that Sodom and Gomorrah have. Remember there were less than 10 righteous people in both Sodom and Gomorrah, righteous here meaning those who were actively seeking God and doing right (i.e. caring for the poor and needy, respecting God and His word). Sodom and Gomorrah thought absolutely nothing of God, disrespecting Him openly. New York and Los Angeles, while they have their share of problems, have yet to reach that kind of sin saturation. So, next time someone says "God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah because of homosexuality", remember Ezekiel 16:49-50.

He thinks its creepy. You see, he spends all his time watching people on Earth have sex. So, when Adam by himself just wasn't doing it from Him and bestiality really hadn't taken off yet (Adam was just learning their names, for chrissakes) he had Eve come into the picture to mix it up. Watching them was fun. He liked it, and ever since then he just doesn't like watching it any other way.
