Tommy and Victor usually gave two kind of extremes and worked off each other well (I don't believe for a second that TNL's Tommy T is not Josh's joke account).
I don't watch it as much now. They changed the format to be more about previews and upcoming games. The reviews now have their own show. I enjoy watching that a lot more because it cuts to the chase.
I watch Space in Canada frequently so I catch it on that station.
Quit damaging the goods.Quote:

From then until May I literally watched nothing but G4, day in and day out, and here is what I've come to learn. The vast majority of the stuff on G4 is total crap, but its still watchable (with some horriffic exceptions). Even when the stuff they show is lame, it's still worth watching when nothing else is on. They don't really show anything of value, most of the shows are just mindless fluff. One of the big problems I have with G4 is that for a video game channel, they air a ton of shit that has nothing to do with video games at all (like the fucking whip set), not to mention the endless string of repeats. The idea of an all videogame channel is a good one, but these guys simply waste the potential.
Out of all the shows they air Judgment Day with Tommy Tallarrico (!) and Victor Lewis are the best thing on the network (which is oddly enough, one of the few shows not produced by by G4tv), they're reviews are actually worth something, unlike Xplay, which while a fun show to watch, is more disposable fluff. Attack of the Show is another pointless show, but given time it will grow on you. Icons, the video game history show is fantastic, and g4tv.com is enjoyable. Every other show features a bunch of people who just read off the teleprompter and don't know what the fuck they are talking about.
Anyway, when I came home for the summer I actually started to miss G4 (since it was pretty much all I was watching on tv), but my parent's direct tv plan didn't carry it. I called up direct tv, and they said that for me to get it my parent's bill would rise around five dollars or so.
But in the end I declined their offer, and as a result I've barely watched any tv lately.
Spend the extra money on the Boomerang network. Hanna Barbera, Popeye and Looney Toons all day long.
Thank you for the compliment. I think it's obvious to everyone that, regardless of your personal feelings towards me and how loud and obnoxious I can be, the shows I'm on are the standouts. When people watch G4, they're usually only thinking of the wasted potential of the channel and what they would do if they controlled it rather than enjoying what's actually on.Quote:

The thing about it is that the shows seem like they're on the right track, but the hosts are all too sarcastic and judgmental. How many times has that Kevin Periera on AoTS made a joke about something (possibly alienating viewers who liked that something) only to say "No but seriously..." after as if everything is a big joke? It gets on your nerves. Morgan Webb is another one who is needlessly sarcastic about a lot of stuff. Sara on AoTS has this exact kind of attitude as well. It's condescending.Quote:

In some ways I miss the old Screensavers and Fresh Gear where they'd cover other aspects of technology. Leo Laporte and that Scotish guy had a very friendly repoire with one another and Leo did a great job of not sarcastically dismissing something as though he's trying to seem hip in high school.
Canada still gets Call for Help with Leo Laporte, which is probably the best show aside from Judgement Day and EP on the network.
All special interest channels are garbage because there just isn't enough niche content to fill a whole channel. The fact that videogame-related content gets old faster than anything else only makes it worse.
Having hot girls on the shows doesn't really help much, though it certainly doesn't hurt.
Icons alone is worth $2 a month. I enjoy G4TV.com (the show). X-Play is OK, but only because Johnny Xtreme is TO THE MAX!!1
