Be it American Japanese developer, writer, programmer president of companies,musican etc who do you admire the most?
I love Hideo Kojima for his dedication and details his games entail.
Yu Suzuki Thank you for Shenmue 1+2 I loved every bit of it.
Vic Ireland despite what people say for localizing some great RPG's we might not otherwise see.
Falcom anything and everything of theirs.

Major props to Suzuki, Yokoi, and Maegawa as well.

Shigeru Miyamoto. Without Super Mario Bros., nothing listed above would have ever come to pass.
Juro Watari of Hitmaker, mainly for Virtual On. I really can't think of many developers who could come up with (and balance) something like that.
In a very close second is Yu Suzuki, for Virtua Fighter. The Shenmue games aren't bad, either.
Oh, Naka and Miyamoto are good, too.
Shigeru Miyamoto, Hiroshi Yamauchi, Yu Suzuki, John Carmack, Sid Meier, Warren Spector (even though I haven't played a lot of his games), and Will Wright.
Yu Suzuki and Yuji Naka have a place in my heart due to all the Sega classics that they made. Their recent stuff is nice, but its the classics such as Space Harrier, Afterburner, Out Run..etc..that made me a Sega fan for life.
The team of Dave Perry and Doug TenNapel deserve great mention for all the great Genesis games they developed. I hear Dave Perry is a bit of a twit, but when he did the actual programming we got great stuff such as Cool Spot, Aladdin, the Earthworm Jim series..etc..great stuff.
Richard Garriott, creater of the Ultima series truly is a legend in the gaming industry. His creation has a pile of sequels (some good..some bad), but the Ultima universe is truly great. I know he's really a PC guy, but still..gaming is gaming.
Will Wright, he's a genius, no doubt.
John Carmack. fps god, you can't deny one bit of that.
Miyamoto for his trippity ideas.
Gunpei Yokoi, for creating the control scheme that has set the standard for console gaming for over 20 years.
Shigeru Miyamoto, for inventing console gaming as we know it today.
Yu Suzuki, for his outstanding contributions to the arcade industry.
Finally, the founders of Activision and Masato Maegawa for (respectively) making independent game design profitable, and keeping the independent game design philosophy alive in the 21st century.
There are many others including Jeff Minter and Capcom Digital Studios, but I'll leave it at that.
MS and ol Billy boy for buying their way into the industry like SONY :D
I would like to know more about Noriyoshi Ohba if anyone has any information. He has worked on the Shinobi series and also Streets of Rage and Clockwork Knight.
