Played Yoshi's Story for the first time and it's amazing!

Doom 64 definitely has the best overall style of any of the Doom games, and some of the best level design as well.

Oh, and there's a PC port of it too. Not exact (there are some minor changes), and you need Doom2.wad, but still damn close. Good if you hate playing FPS on consoles.

I agree %100 on the game, it was very solid. I have a feeling we will be in the low low minority on this one however.,

I'm not saying Yoshi's Story is better than Yoshi's Island, Yoshi's Island is one of the greatest games ever made. I'm just saying Yoshi's Story is a fantastic little game that gets zero credit.

Sweetness! Does it support freelook? It says "mouse control" but that's pretty damn vague, the original Doom had mouse control with no freelook.

Because Doom 64 was pretty cool. Always meant to play it more than I did.

Mouselook is off by default, but yeah, you can use it. You have to go into the control panel, enable the y-axis under Input, and then go into the mouse section of options and adjust everything there to get it going.

Do you really even need mouselook? Everything is interpreted as the same height in Doom anyway so pointing up and shooting isn't really necessary.




I was actually surprised how well Doom 64 controls with the analog stick. I used the dpad at first assuming it would be terrible but quickly switched over to the stick after eventually giving it a shot. Felt surprisingly natural.

It is a fun game but very disappointing compared to Yoshi's Island SNES.

Also, the game has amazing music and sound effects (even if the Yoshi's are too talky and the theme is repeated with diff instruments). A triumph in sound engineering for a cart.

You don't need it, but it does feel more natural. And you can turn off autoaim so it doesn't assume all heights as equal if you want in this version.
