I have had pizza in NYC, Chicago, LA, Cleveland, and Philly, and only NYC can hold up to the places I listed above. #4 is weird... it's extremely thin, and not normal pizza, but it is really fucking good. #5 is heart attack inducing.
If you think Papa John's or even California pizza is bad then don't ever come to Japan. This shit is terrible! It dosen't deserve to be called pizza. Corn and Mayonnaise on a pizza?! What the fuck is that?! There is only one and I mean ONE good (mediocre to terrible by US standards) pizza restaurant in Japan, Marino's in Nagoya. God damn I miss the US.

If some random place in Ohio has orgasmic chili, then yes, it can beat Texas. This isn't like sourdough bread where location and climate actually influences quality (and which is why San Francisco is said to have the best sourdough in the world, and it is damn good for sure).
