I couldn't get past some volcano in OOT. I gave up soon after :-x
Aside from the fact that it's what holds the rest of the game together? If you're going to make a game that's supposedly about adventure and exploration, don't center it around a big empty field that can be crossed on foot in 30 seconds.Quote:

Also, the "peahats" (the helicopter monster plants) are taken right from the in the first NES Zelda which was a beautiful touch, and the little zombie toadies rocked. And besides the seamless transition to 3D, the sheer vastness and amount of things you can do in TOoT's overworld....well I could go on.Quote:

Shifting day and night, zombie skeletons, peahats and horseback riding all own rock tossing moles and charging green 'n blue knights.
And Seth, rising Epona "sucked" because you're "just" in the middle of a field? Weak, c'mon. I'm no jockey but that is basically the gist of horseback riding, McGee. :p
But a lot of the story, interaction and fun came from the overworld. In some ways it's better than the dungeons. Yes, but together they are like the power rangers Megazoid (i'm sure I didn't get that name right). Think of games like this. Individual cars as representing different facets of the animal kingdom coming together to thwart evil, or terrible game design.Quote:

This is exactly how game devs come up with great games. It's the secret. They draw a large mech and try to figure out which animal components fit best with what they're trying to accomplish. See the first to 3D GTA's didn't use fish components, so the water game wasn't playable. But San Andreas incorporated some kind of sea faring creature, perhaps a barracuda or lobster.
Anyway, the overworld is a great way to tie in more gameplay elements with story and LTTP did that. (the hammer anyone?) I still enjoy OOT and LttP. I don't even want to rank them, and why should I?
Good attitude.Quote:

Regardless of whether my shows or posts are good enough for you, you'll still be following me around everywhere I go because you can't get enough of me. This is the exact same reason Nintendo won't improve: you'll still be there, throwing logic and reason out of the window to find ways to bend backwards in efforts to support and defend their gimmicks and disappointments.Quote:
