From what I understand the language of Yakuza members is what makes them Yakuza. Like the Italian mafia, or people speaking Cockney British.
How will they translate the cool way they talk into English, but still keep it cool?
If this game sounds like Shenmue voice-talent wise I will be pissed. So pissed that I will still buy it on day one and play the hell out of it.
http://www.jingai.com/yakuza/introduction.html I'm sure there are better pages that explain the way they talk as well...
I have the game, beat the hell out of it. It was a solid effort by Sega. Imo it's the best game they have released since Orta but the control could really have used a little more polish.
They should really keep the domestic release in Japanese w/ eng subtitles but there is about a 00.01% chance of that happening. I am hoping the dubbing is so bad it will be a Yakuza comedy.
The interview I posted said that Sega wanted to offer dubbed and subbed, but both voice tracks wouldn't fit on the disc. I guess they neede Blu-Ray. ;)
They should print two discs. Add a quarter to the price of the game to cover the cost.Quote:

Someone on GAF said that the game barely has FMV and it clocks in at 4.5 gigs.Quote:

I really don't expect Sega to go out of their way to make a dual-layer game, for various decent reasons.
So it is BS - it would fit on 1 disc, they just decided to be cheap.Quote:

Bah. At least it appears that they are handling the localization with some care. The actual translation better be handled with the same level of care that the VAs are, though, because good actors can't turn shitty dialog into gold.
