About 20 hours, here, but with a good chunk of idle time in the game clock.
What an awesome game. Last fight was retardedly cool, if a bit easy.
Looking forward to RGG2.

That was the most useful thing ever, yeah. Some awesome animations with it, too.
Just finished the game, came in around the same as Mech/Tain (well, a few hours longer, but I took my time, and some of it was idle). I dunno how you finished the game so quickly Yoshi, without powering through. But yeah, you did miss the best ability in the game. Finishing Hold practically doubles your repertoire, and all of the new moves it grants you are awesome.
Sorry Dead Rising, but Yakuza is my GotY now. :(
I must say, though, as much as I enjoyed the experience on the whole, I was a little disappointed with a lot of the ending scenes. It didn't put a damper on my opinion of the game, like a bad ending often can, but some of the plot twists and surprises were disappointing. I had some little annoyances with the direction and writing/VA of the final scenes as well. Of course, there are many instances of questionable dialog or badly-timed VA, but a good finale means a lot for a game like this. And yeah, wtf is up with Amazing Grace for the end credits?
I'll probably remember this game, like the Shenmue games, most for it's atmosphere, and the feeling of being lost, wide-eyed in an fascinating, exotic foreign land.
Also, the kicking of many, many asses.

I didn't notice that, but Kazuma sounds like Spike Spiegel. I wonder if the name used for his VA in the manual is just a pseudonym for Steve Blum. I'm about 12 hours into it (right at the end of chapter 7, building up Haruka's trust. I actually liked chapter 6 since they delved into the lives of side characters - very few games do that, and it was integrated well into the main plots.
I think Kazuma's character and a lot of the action scenes take nods from Spike and Bebop.
I liked the scene where they were discussing Akemi, and all three characters pronounced it entirely differently, and all in rapid succession.Quote:
