In Virginia? No way.
No, that was back in Florida. However, I do know that there are scorpions as north as Pennsylvania, so I don't doubt they'd be here as well.Quote:

I doubt that they're a native species, but they're tiny, stinger-less little things that eat a type of bug that eats the glue used to bind books and make composite materials.
I've only ever seen one, but a guy I met that deals in antique books said that he's seen them several times.
Terrifying.
The bugs that eat glue are called Silverfish. I once opened an old ass book at my Grandma's house and like thirty of them ran out of it. *shudders*Quote:

I sleep with earplugs too, and they still make me get up to try and hunt them down (which never works, but it's satisfying to try)
Over in Idaho they get mormon crickets. That's the proper name too. A couple years ago they were so bad that they were getting mashed up so thick on the road that cars were sliding off on cricket guts and having nasty accidents. I'm glad I don't live there anymore.
I lived in Idaho for eight years and have never seen those. Not that I am sad or anything. I did see a lot of Black Widows and Brown Recluses though. I saw my first roach ever when I moved to Texas when I was 19.Quote:

I lived there for fiteen and never saw one. I went back during that heinous year (2002?) and the fuckers were everywhere. It was comical watching the dogs go after 'em and not knowing which one they were pouncing on because there was so many. Nonstop pouncing, which makes for an entertaining afternoon.Quote:
