for us faggotchan anime lovers this is a godsend, especially for anime club nights and stuff. Have a 264.h video for our own use, and save as a file the full sized anime stuff we got from box or suki.
The true benifit from this will be the widespread adoption of 264.h compression which means any computer that has quicktime 7 can be hooked up to my ipod and play my anime.

Word has it that an announcement concerning the sale of the remotes and Front Row seperately is coming when they have more on hand. Don't know if there's any truth to that, but I'd believe it. I find it unlikely that they'd make this an iMac-only deal if there's sales to be had.Quote:

It sounds like everything everybody bitches about the iPod doing or not doing is here, in terms of not being able to remove music from it once it's on, requiring proprietary software, and so forth, it sounds worse. Plus it's Windows XP only.
I used to nudge people in the direction of Zen Xtra when they said they wanted an mp3 player that was cheaper than an iPod and still decent to use, but I don't think I could recommend one of these to somebody.
