Yeah, unlike a lot of people i dont need 40 gigs of music on hand. I listen to 3 or 4 albums at a time, i have 105 songs on my 512, thats all i need. Now should they ever crack 2.0, i can use atrac3plus and at least get to 150. Thats more then enough music then i need.

I was excited about this, then I saw the thread description, and all of my hope for getting a PSP went down the shitter. A bare-bones option would be great, but I doubt that'll happen until 2010, after a few more "value" packs are released.

The shitty software selection is my main gripe. But the battery doesn't thrill me either- three hours ain't all that impressive.

So, what drains the batteries more, a movie that has to constantly spin, or a game that has to start and stop loading over and over? At first I thought the movie, but starting and stopping the UMD drive constantly might drain more when you think about it.

Still DS is only like 5 hours for a DS game and 10 hours for a GBA game straight.

3 hours overclocking mind you.

Yeah, that's 3 hours overclocked. I usually can swing around 5ish maybe 6 not overclocked. Which is still way more than I'd ever use.

I've easily put 10+ hours at a time on my ds with out charging it and not having the batteries run out

this is my main gripe too, and honestly if they had announced a 180 PSP core system price tag I may have made the plunge but to raise it, that's just not going to get me to buy a PSP

A lot of people expected it to be cheaper. I would have guranteed a week ago that sony would release a barebones PSP this year. Guess not

Also that 1 gig stick is just...1 gig. It still isn't the best choice for it's multi-media capabilities. Witrh the Ipod Video coming out this xmas with way more gigs of space for music and movies the PSP is looking more and more like a game gear.

I really can't defend the software selection... Without emulation I probably wouldn't have gotten in.

In other news, how long did it take for the DS to have a must have title?
