They have a bunch of car models that you can use at home and in the car. Read up on it here http://shop.sirius.com/ and you can usually find the hardware for cheaper around the internet.

Subscription wise both XM and Sirius are 13 bucks a month with a one year sub being about $150. They give discounts on multi year subs and in the case of XM (don't know about the little doggy company) you can cancel your sub at any time and you'll be refunded the amount of money for the months that you didn't use.

And yes, it's worth every fucking cent.

That thing looks sweet, especially compared to all that Audiovox shit they have. I wonder who the OEM is. Expensive though, site says msrp $360.

Problem is with the S50, it only recieves Sirius while its docked. It cannot recieve a live Satelite broadcast.

Sirius doesn't make portable radios. XM has had them for over a year now, and Sirius still has no plans. They have an MP3 player/radio combo that they market as a portable, but it doesn't actually work as a radio unless it's docked in a home or car unit. So you're shit out of luck. Sirus hardware sucks ass.

Also, XM has baseball and Phil Hendrie. And Howard Stern is shit compared to Opie and Anthony.

I have a MyFi (one of XM's portable units) and I love the thing. I take it everywhere, it records O&A for me in the morning... it's the best. Well worth the $180.

Not only that but it needs like $100 worth of accessories, too, as opposed to XM's portable units, which come with everything.

S50 looks cool, definitely the best Sirius unit so far.

Do you have to have a radio in your car that supports these things with inputs, or do they have an optional FM transmitter like the Ipod?
