I've never had my PS2 not play a PS1 game.
As far as PS3 backwards-compatibility issues go, I'm just pissed that the system doesn't have a slot/support for PS1/PS2 memory cards. That's some stupid shit right there.

I guess overall though I really don't give a shit if 360 or PS3 plays the old games. If they didn't have the feature at all I probably would'nt think twice about it.
My old model PS2 won't play Xenogears. That's the only problem I've had.
