Anyone else read the Edge article about Phantasy Star Online? I thought it was great. Bascially, it's about the Dreamcast version and how cool it was back then. Such a simple game that had the DC firing on all cylinders. Wish I could still fire it up and my old character Psycho B1tch for a game online. :(

I played PSO more on the Xbox than on the DC, actually.
I don't need a shitty magazine to tell me how cool PSO was.
i think i had around 450 hours with my original DC PSO character...
most of the time was spent ranting about the industry, hanging out with other DCTP/AG board members, playing with the old Gamefan crew and talking about what developed into the short lived GameGo.
that was a great time. running down the same hallways in the ruins got tired though.
I read it and thought it was a great article too. It paid the Dreamcast in general alot of respect. Phantasy Star Universe is slated to come out in Q1 2006, which has got me excited enough that I downloaded Blue Burst (the newest PC incarnation) last week to check out the new area they added and to try and find some of the new items (about 125 in all).
I was actually thinking about PSO this past week and even tempted to give it another go, but I don't think I will.
It was incredible back then, though. I just got turned off by everyone gaining ten levels to my one. That kind of got old quickly.
You still can play the game online, somebody has had a copy of the leaked server code for awhile and hosts a server for it. Check out the gamefaqs message board for instructions on how to do it. I haven't done it yet myself but everyone there says it works great.Quote:
