Dennis Miller's usually witty and right wing

Cross is a hit-or-miss asshole and I've managed to avoid Larry the Cable Guy's stuff so far because it looks like it would be the opposite of funny.

I'm reading his letter and I'm already getting tired of his constant insistances that he's un-P.C. intertwined with his noble trashing on white people for slavery. It's also hypocritical that he's trashing on the guy for doing a white trash character after he rode the white trash Ronnie character as far as humanly possible. Ronnie was hysterical but come on, he's funny for the same reasons I imagine some people find Larry the Cable Guy funny. The difference is that Larry the Cable Guy or Dan Whiten or whatever the fuck has been a lot more successful than David Cross.

Then he goes on with the see-saw "I'm all for un-PCness and capitalism but rich people should get their money taken away and things are expensive!" thing. 4 references to those evil "tax cuts for the rich", I'm done. Redistribution of wealth = bad, fart. It's funny because I said fart.

Truth. Good job owning Gozen too. Carlin's last special was sad, seeing how far he's fallen. That 20 minute opening rap thing where he just rhymes a bunch of cliches would have gotten him booed off stage if he wasn't the guy that used to be George Carlin. Also, I'm blown away that some people don't think Carlin or David Cross are leftists. Pseudo intellectual comedians that rank on Republicans and Christians for 20 minutes then do the token "Clinton was awesome for getting head" routine are always leftists.

I gotta say speech issues and censorship are one area where the right and left are both despicable. The right wants to be the Thought Police, and the left thinks the public has some kind of right to not be offended by anything.

In his last HBO special he spent 10 minutes talking about the bullshit liberal ideology where it's ok to make assloads of money in any field except private business, another 10 minutes talking about why he voted for Bush and why we needed to invade Iraq, and another 5 minutes about the bullshit liberal ideology of equality without diversity. For a comedian that's pretty right wing, wouldn't you agree if you actually knew what you were talking about asshole?

Leaving aside the rest of the issue, I think saying this like that, implies that comics are generally left-leaning. I don't think that's true. There's a lot of comics on both sides of the spectrum. They're not generally the lefty hollywood types.
