David Cross owned in that article and I've always enjoyed his sense of humor. But then, I'm one of those smarmy pseudo-intellectuals.

You don't have to like Dane Cook, his humor is definately odd and his style is different - but he's shaping up to be a huge comic. Highest charting comedy album in 27 years, selling out MSG, hosting SNL (without sitcom/movie exposure), I seriously think other comics are just jealous. Cross (I like him too) isn't the first comedian I've heard bashing Cook, though he wasn't has hard on him as most people. And to bitch about his merch costs? Retaliation is 2 CD's and a DVD for like $15?!

I wonder if Cross has an issue with Cook because he's not uber-leftist? Dane does stay away from politics and was all "ra ra support the troops" on Leno, maybe David Cross just can't deal with someone who doesn't agree with his political slant?

I'm guessing the merch thing stems more from while people are AT the shows. Show merch tends to be more than when it's available in stores or online.
