It's different than Ikaruga. I personally like Ikaruga better, because of it's stronger level design (Radian is almost all boss fights, like Alien Soldier), shorter length, and better pacing, but Radiant is no slouch in terms of level design, and its system is much, much more flexible, which a lot of people enjoy. There's more variety of ways to handle different situations.Quote:

I'm gonna have to dissagree with you here. RS is NOT mostly boss fights. There are a lot of them, but stages have lots of normal shmupness too. Alien Soldier is like 5 seconds of a stage, then boss fight. RS isn't like that at all.Quote:

Yeah, I was exaggerating a bit, but when you compare the amount of boss fighting in RS to Ikaruga, I think my point still stand.
I still don't get the fuss about Soukyugurentai, but I like Dodonpachi more thain either of them
I'm not sure why I like it either. I just know that I have a lot of fun playing it. I never played the Donpachi games, I need to track them down; or at least Dodonpachi.Quote:

Thanks for the impressions, Destro. Now Should I just be happy to play it on Mame or does the Saturn version do something special like sing you a song or something that the arcade version doesn't. Keep in mind that I don't have a Saturn and I don't usually Ebay for games. I don't think that this or any game is worth the 150 + dollars that people charge for it. I wish Treasure would just rerelease this damn game already so I could buy it.Quote:

I paid somewhere in the neighboorhood of $100 for my copy and have gotten well more than $100 worth of enjoyment out of it.
I love the weapon vareity (6 different attacks plus a sword wtf)
The music is fantastic.
I'd suggest getting a modchip and downloading the game though. I certainly would if I could do it over again... its not like Treasure is getting the money for sales of the game.
The one thing I hate about RS! lolQuote:
