Anyone know anything about the Universal System Selector Pro 2.0

I have their first system selector and I LOVE It I've had it since the day it came out and havent had any issues with it no signal clarity lose or anything but from little bit of info I can gather from gamestops website this one has a LCD display so no buttons to push and a remote (my model of the old one came out before they added the remote control) anyway the point of all this is If this one is good and has enough inputs I could use this as my main componet switch box and then use my old system selector to run my S-video systems (which right now run through 2 small selectors)

so any info on this thing I can not find any info on pelican's site or any site other than game stop which just has a few basic lines of info on it

I saw this at best buy, it looked pretty swank. It has three optical audio inputs and tons of other hookups. It was like 99 dollars though which seemed kinda steep. I am sure you can find it on the net for cheaper though.

how come this one doesnt say "PRO" twice?

I must admit i was hoping for HDMI and DVI inputs. anyways i have the old one and it does what it's supposed to well, i just hope it had better build quality.....specially the selector buttons.

I have the old one as well... but a remote is definitely appealing. I spent $100 on the last one, so I don't see myself spending another $100 anytime soon.

I have the other SSP and if they fixed the signal noise issue I would definately pick up this one. Of course, if it doesn't they certainly won't advertise it so I have choice other then to wait for other people to buy it and see what they think.

Damn! I paid $90 for the v1 with remote. Why didn't they release this 3 months earlier? Well, if I ever decide to do to two of these, this new one is getting snapped up. Sexy.

100 bucks isnt bad for a good system selector

so it does have 3 optical audio inputs very nice, all the websites with it didnt list that information

It seems it's down to only 5 inputs though ( I don't count the one on the front cause I will never use it it would look so ugly with wires coming into the front of the set up and all) which is 2 less than the version 1.0 had

which version of the original do you have

because from what I've seen those with the one before the remote was introduced have no problems with Signal noise (also check how your wires are and other things you may be getting signal noise from some where else) but people with the remote version seem to complain about it

I don't know I havent had any problems with it at all

The one with the remote. As for my connections, it's not them. All the cables worked fine when I ran them through my reciever and there's no signal noise during non-progressive scan output. It's not a huge issue but I would love for it to be gone.

Seems pretty decent, but I'm kind of a sucker for gear like this. I've got the old model (no remote) and love it- no signal problems at all even with the semi cheesy cables that it shipped with.

Not to completely derail this thread, but can anyone suggest a solid VGA switch? I decided that would be the way to go for the 360, since my broke ass isn't about to shell out for a new TV set anytime in the next 12 months. Might even be nice to get one with 4 or 5 inputs so I can use older equipment like the DC with it too...

again I wonder if it's something to do with something that was changed when they added the remote

I would check the progressive scan on it but i can't as I don't have an HDTV (though I want that Samsung 30inch slime line crt HDTV soooo fucking bad would be the perfect size for my gaming room, if only I had 900 bucks to throw away at it )
