Free FM's first day

Uncle Manny and his stories about the village. Ugh. I listened for 10 mins and it was a disaster. Uncle Manny was rambling and making little sense and DLR was making incorrect references as to where locations are in the village....it was brutal, then I switched to O&A and they started making fun of him...

For the last few minutes Penn speaks for thirty seconds and then there's technical failure and it switches to dead air which they replace with commercials.

That's an awesome magic trick.

It's free because it sucks.

But at least Booker still has his show. He was entertaining. But no one will listen to him because of his time slot.

In CT we have 99.1 (WPLR) and 106.9 (WCCC). Both pretty dam good. You might be able to pick them up, or get'em via the web.

99.1 is classic rock, and 106.9 is modern/classic rock and generally the better of the two.

Yea but hasn't PLR been playing more "alternative" stuff along with the classic stuff for awhile? I catch Bax and Obrien now and then on Rock 102 out of Springfield, MA or AM 1080 for news and talk but that's it for "traditional" radio. 95% of the time it's all about the Archos MP3 player or XM.

I listened to roth this morning on the way to work trying to give him a chance and like Dolemite said he just drifts in and out of random thoughts while music drifts in and out

I have "The Radio Chick" on now doesn't seem like anything special so far

only saving grace for the station is booker, I personally find Booker, Dani, Nick, Jill and brad fucking hillarious at times so Im looking for to listening to them on my way home from the dojo tonight

It's fucking terrible! And right after KROQ started playing really good classic music along with the new stuff too. *sigh*

Are WPLR and WCCC still free of the ClearChannel bullshit that took over the rest of CT? If so, that's remarkable, but now that Rowland's gone it's not impossible.

So far, so good. I'll let you know when they are eventually overtaken and converted to Spanish language and/or Hip-Hop formats.
