I always hated Jackie, and I don't think I could listen to K-Rock Artie again after hearing how much funnier is he when he's allowed to curse. The show is so much better now.
The only downside to the move to Sirius is that the quality of the guests has dipped. It's like no one big really wants to appear on Stern now that his audience is so much smaller. But the show's so much better overall that I don't mind the interviews with has-beens like Dice and Dee Schnider.
Earlier today, Howard talked a little more in-depth about getting his old tapes back and has asked the audience for suggestions on how they should present the old material. The obvious answer is for Howard to start 'Howard Classic 102', but is there any particular way you would want them to program the channel?
And George Takei will be sitting in the show all next week.

Howard said that when they reair the old stuff, it will be completely uncensored. That includes Sam Kinneson vs. Jessica Haan, Hank the Dwarf vs Beetlejuice, and any bit that had to be edited (and in some cases reedited) because of the FCC.Quote:

I think the best thing to do would be to just play old shows over the weekend on 100. They're all sub-par compared to the show now (listening to Artie on terrestrial radio is painful now that he's been let loose).
From everything I've read, CBS got $2 million in the settlement. Basically, for all of Stern's rambling about how he was going to destroy CBS in court, for all his talk of their lawsuit being about him "getting paid by Sirius", CBS did have a minor leg to stand on. He didn't make it known that a huge chunk of his payment from Sirius was in stock options, which does cast a different light on him promoting Sirius. The lawsuit itself was really over the top and excessive, but there was a shred of validity in there.
I was hoping that by now he'd stop with the constant sales pitches; every time someone disses the show he turns it into the "The beauty of Sirius is that when we suck you can listen to hundreds of other great channels". Whenever someone says the show is great he turns it into "I love Sirius, it's an amazing product and worth every penny of the $12.95". He's even doing it with guests now, like the Dixie Chicks, Jim Breuer, etc.
Artie's the best part of the show now, Fred's a lot better, Robin's improved, Sal and Richard are fantastic, Stern is improved but he's still too pompous and in love with his own causes. I couldn't bring myself to care about this whole lawsuit "cause" he tried to drum up in the first place, because I knew for all his talk of plans and phases he was just going to pay CBS out of court and put a gag order on it.
They're too lax with JD; they let him off the hook on shit when he starts pussing out
I don't think the real details have surfaced yet but i was under the impression he paid $2 million for his tapes, not as part of a settlement.
