So, okay, one thing I'm bad about is paying for computer software. Let's be honest, I'm not going to pay $700 for Photoshop, and when it comes to shareware, at least on the Mac, a lot of people who make software are smoking crack when it comes to how much they think their stuff is worth.
But, the other day, I broke down and purchased something called Flip4Mac. It lets one play WMV and WMA files in QuickTime, and seeing as how Microsoft's Windows Media Player sucks for Mac OSX, I thought it would be a nice piece of software to have. Plus, it was only $10, so hey. (They have multiple versions for various prices, but if you just want playback, it's $10.)
That probably was only like a week ago now.
So what do I just get in my e-mail inbox? A message from the company who makes Flip4Mac, saying that the playback-only version of the software is now free. Seriously, the last shareware I paid for was in 2002, and here I finally break down and pay for something else, and a week later it switches over to being free.
Teaches me to try to be an honest person, I guess.
