I'm on the fence on this one. When the guy playing Paulie was hired his stipulation was that he wouldn't be a "rat" or a turncoat.

He's not officially dead yet, although Paulie said the doctors don't think he'll regain consciousness.

My theory:

In an attempt to kill Tony, they kill Carm or Meadow. This totally flips AJ into stone cold killer mode, he helps Tony and Paulie whack Phil, and then get's made.

Hence "Made in America"

Probably won't happen, but I would be okay with that.

They definitely burn down Tony's house, or some place that AJ is at. You can see fire reflecting off of AJ's face during the preview.

Nah. For one thing, this is way too close to the ending of "The Godfather Part III." No one wants to be accused of copying that movie.

And why the hell would A.J. get made after one simple murder? Assuming he even had the intestinal fortitude to kill someone, which he clearly lacks.

Here is another theory.

Paulie fucked up the hit on Phil, who ignored Paulie when he was naming sopranos management, and seems slightly okay with what's happening (making AJ jokes, etc) he may indeed be the rat.
