Dunno if this has been mentioned yet, but apparently there might be an American version of Oldboy coming out according to IMDB.com, although its status is currently "possibly shelved". Not really sure how I feel about this. I mean, I'd normally be all "Why?!", but after seeing "The Departed" (American version of "Infernal Affairs") it's made me more open to remakes as long as they bring something new. Anyways, just wanted to give you guys a heads up.
Oh, and haven't picked up the 3-disc edition yet, but I've got a feeling my gf is getting it for me for Xmas... Keeping my fingers crossed. Anybody got impressions to share?
A little aside: Probably doesn't belong here but too lazy to start a new thread... So "My Sassy Girl" is getting the remake treatment too, with Elisha Cuthbert and Jesse Bradford. Ugh. Got a bad feeling about this one.

...went to Borders today, equipped with a 40% off any DVD Boxset coupon, and bought the Oldboy 3 Disc SE.
So you get:
- 3 discs (shitload of extra features, obviously)
- volume 1 of the Oldboy Manga,
- 35mm film cell (wish I was lucky enough to get the Corridor fight shots or atleast the squid eating shots but nope)
Just watched it, Nick gave me the Blu-Ray version of this.
Great flick, loved the twist, cringed at the Octopus.
Is the Special Edition worth getting?
