Project Origami

After lots of rumors swirling for months, it appears we are only two days from seeing an announcement of Microsoft's handheld. IGN already has several images pulled from a video that was "leaked":

I love the fact that my hands won't cramp the second I turn it on and that it's not made for fags to carry in their pockets. I hate, however, the two face buttons. WTF?

You have to give Microsoft credit for their code names too. "Project Midway" was the best one ever. I suspect that "Origami" is designed to make the Japanese fold, which is also awesome.

I'll give it a fair shake. Can't see any of the articles at work. They'll need portable Halo to have a chance. From what the other thread described, it seems to be going the route of games/pda, whereas PSP is games/multimedia, and DS is just games.

Am I alone in thinking a third portable system is too much? (Considering the DS and SP as one)

Just looks like a huge as PDA/Multimedia Player/GPS

I like the size. The problem I have with the PSP is that it's not a pure gaming system, but it doesn't do anything else useful either. I would use a GPS, and this thing's screen is actually big enough to make watching movies comparable to a portable DVD player. It's also big enough to fit full sized discs inside. If this thing plays Xbox games and DVDs, it's mine day one.

I think its awful.

I think the PSP is a pure gaming system. Just lacking games right now due to their poor ass marketing for UMD movies. Now that they are cutting back, hopefully we'll see more games. I think at E3, they'll have lots of info on the PSP regarding upcoming games, and new features on the PSP. Supposedly, there are rumors and leaked pics of a new firmware (3.0). Shows features rumored are sonymail, sonypaint, organiser, alarmclock, and a write pad.

Xbox games? Highly doubt it. DVDs, more than likely. Nothing in that video showed anything regarding gaming..unless I missed it.

If this is somewhat aimed at gaming, people are going to bitch at the size and how its not really portable or fit in their pocket.

There seems to be two different versions? The two middle pics..the buttons are different. The first image you see on all the other images but the second image you only see it once.
