Some of these are pretty cool. I remember doing stuff like this when I was a kid but they were never this elaborate.

That was delightful.

That was pretty cool, but the jingle got on my nerves.

Yeah some of those were great, but man that jingle is obnoxious. The best ones are when the track itself moves/assembles itself ahead of the marbles. Also the one where the logo itself was sliding down the machine and caught on the hooks, that was pretty cool.

When I was 7-8 i had to share a room with my brother. we had bunkbeds, and i was in the top bunk. Neither one of us ever wanted to turn off the lights, so i made one of these type machines mainly out of empty toilet paper rolls and clothes hangers, but i had marbles, rope and a pulley too.

Everything was attached to the walls and went around the room (3 corners) from the top bunk to the switch. the first marble would roll through the tubes into a cup that would lower and turn off the switch. the second marble would roll through a different set of tubes that would hit another cup and via the pulley would raise the original cup and flip the switch back on. worked wonders until we had to move houses

Aren't Rube Goldberg machines supposed to ultimately do something? Like the stuff in Pee Wee's playhouse that would pour his cereal or whatever.

Does anyone remember the TV show Dr. Fad?

RG devices are things that make an ordinary task seem extraordinarily complex. I suppose if the task here is to make the flag come up or the words to show, then yes, it's a RG device.
