not exactly, both times homosexuality is mentioned in the bible, (leviticus and paul, if i recall correctly, and leviticus is old testiment, so its not even current law, and it stones just about everyone, which is something that jesus seemed to be verymuch against) it refers to active homosexual activity, no passage in the actual bible(though these fellows may have a version that is altered) says that homosexuals are "destined" to burn in hell. in fact, there are few real cases of "desiny" in the bible, certain major players are prophesied to do different things, and even then a case could be made that they chose their paths that lead to fulfillment of whatever prophecies that they happened to fulifl and thus werent destined either. but for the majority of us, its individual actions that define our relationship with god. but destined for hell? you have a wrong view of christianity to beleive that.

I went to Christian school for four years (Kindergarten to 3rd grade). Afterwards, I immediately stopped caring, since I felt like I served my time. A teacher stealing my Bible didn't help matters either.

It's this "Persecution" thing people say is retarded. We don't have problems with cristians or any religion (by and large). The problem is as follows:
- Asserting that Creationism/Intelligent Design should be taught "alongside" Evolution. It's ID is not science, Evolution is. Saying, "It's not even a law!" makes it more retarded. It suggests a very crude idea of what Theory really means and the intent of Evolution and Science in general.
- The PRIMARY issue is Intolerance. You can be intolerant of anything you want because this is the great ol USA. It doesn't mean its cool. It's ok to be a bigot if you want to be. No one (reasonable) is going to like you for it though.
- Then there's the absurd suggestion that Christians are being persecuted and that their faith is being attacked. This is ridiculous on a huge variety of levels, such as Christians being the overwhelming majority in the USA, that science makes no concerted effort to dismantle the bible or any other faith since science is removed from faith. Religion, indeed, needs to be removed from state affairs for an equal society to exist (which isn't stoping it from nearly becoming a part of policy anyway since, again, the majority of the US is Christian and it's the will of the people as late, so who's being repressed again?) so public adminstration is at a cross-roads: Hamper speech to intolerant christians (not saying all are intolerant) or allow gays to be descriminated against. Since it's not clear scientifically that homosexuality is a choice or inherent in the person it's best to err on the side of caution and simply prohibit hate speech in federal/state/municipal areas no matter what the reasoning is. Point being, Christians who belive that their faith is under-attack by gays, the ALCU, and unsympathetic government are full of shit and only see wickedness outside them because most likely there's wickedness inside them.

I hate when people get offended, gays included. If someone wants to wear a "God Hates Fags" kind of shirt, or have an anti-gay protest or anything else along those lines, they should be able to. Don't like it? Boo-fucking-hoo. Inflammatory speech is not prohibited. Deal with it.

Now, inciting people to violence against gays or to taking away their rights is not cool.
