Holy shit balls goddamn YYZ melted my face. What an awesome song. too bad it's not harder, I passed all four on expert first go. They made the timing on hammer-ons MORE lax, so it's even easier to get everything down.

Still, that song was worth the fucking 11.50 I had to pay for that crummy magazine. Goddamn, I can't wait to tear up the bassline.

You guys don't think that since we have all pretty much played the original enough to be pretty good at it, that it make take away from GHII? I found alot of fun in the original trying to improve my skills.

Yeah I think it won't be as challenging for sure - and knowing the track list ahead of time kind of takes away that "I wonder what 5 songs are next" motivation to keep playing, but the game is just so damn fun that it will still be a riot to play.

I've played the demo songs like 10 times each already.

I knew the tracklist of the first before I bought it.

Time to play the demo again.

All of you guys that are “pretty good” at the first game should start posting some expert scores in the score attack thread.

Anyway, I don’t see how anyone that played the first game can complain about the possibility of challenge and/or replay-value being an issue in GH II since the Guitar Hero formula is built upon the timeless tradition of score-based, arcade-style gameplay. This type of gameplay model offers an almost endless incentive to keep shooting for higher scores until you’ve achieved a perfect point total on each song, and thanks to the general difficulty of accomplishing said feat in most of the series’ songs, the quest for achieving “Guitar God” status should remain just as lengthy and rewarding as it was the first time around regardless of the improved hammer-on detection.

"Beast and the Harlot" = the new "Cowboys From Hell" (i.e., a shitty song by a shitty metal band that’s probably going to be a pain in the ass to play on expert)

"Institutionalized" = ALL I WANTED WAS A PEPSI, JUST ONE PEPSI! AND THEY GAVE IT TO ME! Seriously, the lead guitar lines on this song are essentially just one big, long solo--courtesy of Rocky George---with maybe two or three breaks for the chorus, so it should be a blast to play.

Aerosmith - Last Child? Holy shit. I love that song. :)
