Suikoden V has apparently been shipping with a limited number of artbooks and cds. My question is, were there any goodies like this that I may have missed out on for IV and III (and possibly Tactics) when they were first released?

IV had some, from what I recall. There was an artbook with preorders and an online game for other shit.
I also recall TNL pwning Konami and getting a shitload of free stuff from their little treasure game.
III-V are all very underwhelming, though.
'sall about II. Oh yes. Yes it is.
Yeah, I've not heard much good about III and I don't think that IV is supposed to be any better, but the review for V over at Got-Next piqued my interest so I went ahead and grabbed it. And, of course, being the anal SOB (and apparent glutton for punishment) that I am, that means that I'm going to have to go back and play through III and IV as well for the back story and saves. Anyway, I'll have to try and track down that artbook for IV. Thanks for the info.
And you bet your ass it's all about II, Compass... one of my prized possessions. :)
Heh, me too. I still fire it up just to watch and hear the intro now and then.
That's the one thing in the pack I never got.Quote:

I have the coin, the "soundtrack," and the wallscroll.
V is pretty good actually, Chao's a moron.
I mean, it's essentially trying to be like the original Suikodens, something III and IV didn't.
Right, that's what I saw as I watched my brother play.Quote:

The character design is no different from Suikoden II, nor does the main character look any more girlish. So, unless you're just saying ALL the Suikodens are bland you're a moron. I'll grant you the story in Suikoden II was better, but really V shares several parallels with it too.
III was alright honestly, nothing amazing, but it was a decent game. IV was terrible.
