You'll still have to do the tuturial most likely, but it'll make sense to you the first time around.

It was pretty easy to understand being I've never played it before. I haven't played Magic in awhile, but that shit's like riding a bicycle. Now only if the game didn't fuck me and keep giving me shitty cards I'd win more. I haven't had a win yet out of my 4 games I've played.
Maybe I'm just awful at this game.
Which starter deck are you running? What cards are you using, and in what proportion?
Remember that some of the best cards in the game are quite easy to get (Normal, or "common" rarity).
In other news, my character is rocking the Storm Armor, Air Cloak, and Brave Helmet and looks quite the badass.
I'm using whatever the game gave me. Did I have an option to choose a starter deck? It just seems that none of the good cards I got from losing seem to want to come up. It also seems like the cpu gets a boost halfway through the game and dominates me.
I seem to have green, red and normal creatures. No blue or yellow ones. I'm going to play a few more games tonight. Hopefully I'll get further.
Edit: Finally won my first match after complaining on here. About time.
I like Culdcept when I'm winning -- and loathe it like no other game when I'm losing. I don't really swear much in real life, but oooh boy, let the computer get a few lucky rolls, and I turn into some kind of cursing thesaurus.
Not exactly. Your magic gains are exponential once you get the board locked down, since you always receive the full toll on a territory, whether or not someone can pay it and goes bankrupt. After landing a huge toll, you dump it all into another territory, and have more huge tolls for them to land on, rinse and repeat. However, if there really are no Old Willows anymore, I suppose setthing that up will take longer. But Kelpie, Quicksand, or just owning everything on the board will make it happen. Invest in a single color of symbols, and then turn everything on the board that color as well...usually in those huge game challenges I try to knock out several other, lesser related tasks.
It'll still be long game though.
Finding time to devote to this has been a bitch, but I've played up through the "impress the unimpressable king" match. I lost both the first match and colisseum III match once each, and destroyed the other matches.
What percentages of cards do you guys use? I like to have 60/20/20 for charas, items, and spells. But even then, I seem to have a hard time getting charas off the bat. It seems like the items/spells always come at the beginning of the match, which makes it much harder than it should be.
Don't feel bad about losing. I had to play Coliseum III four times before I beat it, and I've played this game for ages. My play style is also extremely aggressive, which is a poor match for the extremely slow and tedious Coliseum III map.
I use 50% creatures, 20% items, and 30% spells in most every deck. Depending on the deck I may have more creatures than spells or vice versa, but I almost always put in exactly ten items. This is because items tend to sit in your hand more than any other card, waiting for juuuuust the right time (Gaseous Form, Holy Grail, Vorpal Blade especially). So you really don't want any more than ten items to prevent hand clogging.
I like to go heavy on spells because there are so many useful, versatile spells out there. Cards like Telekinesis, Haste, Holy Word 0, and Holy Word X belong in almost every deck.
Does Evil Blast still exist?
