I love this statement ... it's probably one of the most honest looks into how a lot (possibly most) illegal immigration supporters feel about the issue. They think it's perfectly fine to actively cultivate a permenant underclass to wash their cars, mow their lawns and nanny their kids because real americans are too good to do these types of jobs, yet these same people call republicans racist.

Fixed. Can we please stop calling them "immigrants," because they aren't, and that's a slap in the face to everybody who came over here properly.

That's the part of all of this that bothers me - not them coming here for the jobs, but coming here without going through the system properly and then thinking they have a right to be here. I know a lot of people who have had to work really hard to come to the U.S. and then stay here, and I've got a girlfriend who I currently can't live together with because she isn't a citizen yet. Why in the world should some people have to put a lot of time, money, and effort into doing things the right way, and others be able to just say "fuck it," sneak into the country illegally, and then demand to be made citizens?

It doesn't matter if the issues are different. You are saying that its tough shit for them because they didn't vote for so and so. They didn't do this and they didn't do that.

You can say the exact same thing for Mexico. They are in the situation they are now in because of their own actions. It doesn't matter what any other country has done to them, because they went with the flow. They made their choices.

They're working here, and contributing greatly to the economy. If you want to make them pay taxes, attack the companies that hire them illegally and don't document their employment for the purposes of income tax collection.

I do think that we need to change a lot of out laws when it concerns what rights illegals are 'entitled' to once they get here. If someone sneaks into this country and drops a kid on our soil, that kid is automatically a citizen and is entitled to benefits that the parents can take advantage of. What kind of bullshit is that? If I was married and my wife gives birth while we're on vacation in Japan, my kid ain't Japanese.

It's because we're a nation of immigrants, ergo the only thing that can make one a 'native citizen' is birth here.

Like I already said in this very thread, they really do end up paying for themselves. Fact - this country wouldn't be as rich as it is today were it not for illegal immigrants.
