Golden Axe: Beast Rider

Yeah, it seems like it should have been an XBLA game. But it's pretty Ok.

I played it for a few hours when it came out and had fun. I intend to go back to it some day.

If it had a different name, it'd be a mediocre hack-'n-slash. With the GA name, it's a major disappointment.

I could see that. It sounds like a better game than X-Blades or Blades of Time, and yet it got much worse reviews.

I like Blades of Time more than Beast Rider but yeah, I think reviews went extra harsh on the latter because of its series.

this was totally my take, though not as big a disappointment as The Duel must've been when people were hoping for Revenge of Death Adder.
