Sunshine was pure ass water. If Nintendo did not release it as a Mario game it would've been forgotten like any other third rate platformer, instead we're talking about it 4 years later.
I loved Mario Sunshine, but I agree with the Yoshe.Quote:

I'm a bit sad to hear that the wiimote feels tacked on at this point. As long as it doesn't hurt the game I guess it doesn't matter too much though...
It's been pretty accepted since it came out that if Sunshine just had the void levels without the water pack and nothing else, it would have been fantastic. Since that's what Galaxy looks like, I'm interested.
I'm worried about the "Mario in space" factor, but other than that it looks decent.
Too soon.
Super Mario 3 > Super Mario World > Sunshine > SMB 1 > SMB 2
I know nothing of japanese SMB2 and I have venom towards SM64, so I won't rank them.
But the point is Sunshine was fantastic. I don't know what the heck you guys wanted out of it, but it hit all the marks.
As for Galaxy, looks f'n AWESOME.

Froggy speaks the truth, I got to play it too. After about a minute I was just controlling Mario, not thinking about how I did it, and the Wii remote add-ons were effortless to use. The small planets made for some tight areas to play in, with no waste space, and the fun they're having with gravity gives this game its hook more than the Wii remote does. I'd recommend some serious optimism here.
