He's not being insane, people just jumped down his throat because he said the government LETS conspiracy theories spread by being so opaque. What, are we supposed to accept everything the government says as fact?

I don't give a shit what Bush, Clinton, Reagan, and their predecessors have referred to this government as, it's immaterial as to what it really is, what it was intended to be, and how it's supposed to work. Don't sit and cry foul that elections were held and Republicans are in control. That will all change with the upcoming elections, anyway.

Remember, the "majority" voted Hitler into office and because their weren't counterbalances (like this government, for example) it's a clear indication of why true democracies cannot exist for the good of the people and are a terrible form of government.

Unfortunately, with countries such as China referring to themselves as "Republics", the true meaning of that form of government has been irreversibly lost.
