It could look worse. What's the ETA on this thing anyway? I wouldn't want it or Blu-Ray until there was a clear cut "winner" in the battle for the next video format.

it's just...a drive. It looks like an amputated limb. I mean they didn't work at it at all to make it look good.

Is the only point here to use the 360's connections to watch HD-DVDs? I mean, if the 360 isn't supplying the firmware or the drive, what the fuck is the difference between this and a stand-alone player?

Price.

If you already bought a 360, you can play HD-DVD without spending $500 for that POS Toshiba.

Hopefully it plays the movies better than the Xbox or PS2 played DVd's though (ditto for PS3).

Its still stupid, though.

Maybe they could put games on it, I dunno. I asked a MS rep if it would be able to play games and his head practically exploded. It was pretty funny.
