Blu-Ray only holds more data on paper. In reality, HD-DVD currently holds five gigs more.

and since 3 layer HD-DVDs arent that far away at the end of the day blu ray will only hold 5 gigs more than HD-DVD

People at my work keep trying to steal Terminator on BlueRay.

Considering Blueray players cost a couple grand, I find this amusing.

If they refuse to let me give them money, I've no problem acquiring the product they don't want me to have through other means.

Example- I want One Piece unedited, subtitled. I have money in my pocket for this purchase. Hi, cheap Hong Kong rip-off version, welcome to my collection. I really don't much care if that makes me a dirty little pirate or not. :)

Couple thousand? Is that because you're talking Canadian? They are $1,000 wherever I see them.

Anyway, this debate will keep going on if people think they are needed or not... but whatever, I think people who see the difference will eventually turn.

It really is funny to me how much Sony is half-assing Blu-Ray right now, when at the same time they're possibly screwed over their top upcoming product by making it a vehicle for the format.

I'm still leaning towards Blu-Ray, a big part of which is exactly that: I'll have a PS3, so I'll get HD video without buying a separate box. But, christ, get your act together on this Sony.
