I just saw a free screening of the 3D version of The Wolverine last night. I have never seen a 3D film where the 3D effect was so completely and totally unnoticeable ever before. Aside from a power wire on a house in one shot looking ever so slightly 3D-ish (that's how bad it was...a WIRE stood out), this was a just a blurry movie made clear with funny glasses, nothing more. An even bigger rip-off than most 3D movies are.
It's borderline fraud, IMO, as the 3D effect just doesn't exist in this movie.
Aside from that bullshit, I still enjoyed the movie itself, and the ending was just as retarded as ever. If anything, the ending pissed me off even more, as it really just pretty much ruins the entire fucking movie. Silver Samurai is basically the Jar-Jar of The Wolverine.
I haven't seen it, but do you think the movie would have been good with a human silver samurai?
Yeah. The movie's vibe does a complete 180 when that Transformers reject shows up. But it wasn't JUST Robo-Samurai that fucks things up...it was also the "you'll see it coming from a mile away" twist he represented and all the garbage that went along with it.
A human Samurai alone wouldn't fix it...the whole ending needed to be re-written.
The Wolverine video game was badass. I was in some dumb commercial for that game that ran at Gamestop talking about how awesome it was (filmed at New York Comic-Con).
I'm gonna get it (when the price is right). It sounds sweet.
Yeah, after seeing it, it sorta represented to me what the Fox's X-Men was all about. Pointless, unemotional untied combat for the sake of nothing but being "cool". Before that, they were actually trying to do something different it seemed like. I really really liked the beginning to wolverine origins, where he was just a lumberjack. Similarly, I quite liked the beginning of this movie. I'm just going to write up my ideas with spoilers so that I don't have to think about it.Quote:

Ninjas are shooting you with arrows, don't try to take cover or cut the ropes holding you back, just keep running down the middle of the village like a retard.

The Wolverine origin game is awesome, a little clunky and repetitive but excellent cut scenes and cutting limbs off of people never gets old
