Plenty of animals kill their own kind, and those of their own family/group as well.

1) he said all animals. That would included reptilies and fish, who do things like lay eggs and then leave them to raise themselves. That isn't very social

2) Not all mammals are social creatures to the level we are. Mammals that live in heards for instance do not save its own members from predators. They get the hell out of dodge and if you can't run as fast as eveyrone else, you're fucked. The only mammals that have similar social struckers are pack animals. But not all animals live in packs.
