Btw, the game is sitting at 86% on Gamerankings based on 19 reviews and is only $29.99.
I started having a chan freak out when the opening cinema came on, and I realized I hadn't been given the chance to turn on Japanese VO. But the English voices are really good, and within seconds I was perfectly at ease.
I let Jeanne die in the second battle , and then I turned it off. That frog guy they find in the basket is so the Frog Log dude from Rogue Galaxy.
Easily. High, Level 5-typical production values, and solid SRPG gameplay. I don't know why it's only $30. Maybe 'cause it's a First (Or only Second? Is Level 5 Sony-owned?) Party game?
[edit]: Nevermind. Level 5 can't be Sony-owned since they're doing that DS adventure game.
For a first party release on a struggling system with staggering production values, the lack of Jeanne advertising surprises me. On that note, there's been next to no marketing for the PSP Slim, either. Is Sony that fucking committed to failure?
ProTip: Launch revised hardware alongside a high profile first party title and market the shit out of them to upsurge sales! See also: Nintendo DS Lite + New Super Mario Bros.
Well they seem to understand in japan atleast with FF:CC. But what big title is due this fall for the PSP in the rest of the world? I can only think of Wipeout, and that's not really big.
Time to import this btw.
My point is that they should've timed the PSP Slim release to coincide with Jeanne D' Arc's. Jeanne could've been this year's big PSP title had it been marketed as such.
So far, the localization is spot-on. The armlet transformation/extra turn system is the perfect gameplay wrinkle to keep battles frantic and addictive. Shit, I'll advertise this game if SCEA won't.
Damn sounds like a solid SRPG to play, too bad it's on the PSP.
But if I had money, I'd go with what Robot said, if they released this with the PSP Slim that'd be a fucking purchase.
