Okay I'm broke and I want to make a project. If anybody wants to save bread on a Ceriatone Fender Champ clone buy the kit unbuilt and I will build it for free. I've put this offer out around town and as soon as somebody online or IRL steps up the offer is closed.

So, got myself an entry-level banjo* and am teaching myself how to play.
It's fun! Constantly having to tune it, I'm guessing this implies that the strings are still breaking in. Got a battery operated Metronome/Tuner on the cheap until I can teach myself to tune it by ear.
Why a banjo? I like 'em.
*Rover RB-20, from a store that reminded me exactly of the pet shop from Gremlins.
Open back style, I'll upgrade to one with a resonator this time next year.

Another drum noob question:
I know the make mutes for pads, but do they make mutes for sticks?
I'm looking for something that I can just slip on the tips of my current sticks, or maybe some new sticks that come with "soft" tips to begin with.
The closest match I've find so far is these, but the reviews aren't too favorable.
For the record, I'll be using these on an electronic kit with stiff, rubber pads.

You can use those bunion pads. They work kinda.

Nevermind, that's to get a better splash or whatever the fuck drummers call that shit.

Duct tape might actually work.
I've already got the bass pedal sensor supported with a cinder block I stole from a construction site.
And the beater on the bass pedal is already muted with some cloth I cut off an old pillow case.
MacGyver drum-set FTW. :chunobi:

I bought a Deering 6 string banjo for $200 last year on Craigslist.
I traded it for a $1500 Ovation acoustic.

stupid silvertone is being gay. It plays all quite and clean. If you hit it, it might get lowd. I really hope its the power tubes. I really don't want to recap it.
