Also, I like pedals just fine. And I got a couple of new ones recently. The first is a Fuzz Face clone with a sweet mod called Creepy Face by Creepy Fingers Effects. CFE is owned and all pedals are built by Brad Davis, bass player for Fu Manchu. Extra epic imo

And I got this Chinese made Biyang Tonefancier FZ-7 for $40 shipped on ebay, That 3 way switch is a joke. I mean three different sounds come out but they're not really as described on the face there. It is cool and it was well worth my money but it's not necessarily top shelf.

I finally got around to fixing my Epiphone SG as well.

But instead of troubleshooting the dead pickup I decided I wanted to try P-90's in it. After calling all over town the only thing I could find that would fit in a humbucker hole besides humbuckers was a pair of P-94's at Aviator Guitars. And I want to plug that place heavy because this was only my second visit and first time buying anything and he cut me a $30 break plus no tax. AVIATOR RULES! Here they are:

The legs on the bridge one were hecka long and I was a little worried after I got them back home. Here's a comparison shot next to the stock humbucker:

I thought I might have to mod the legs or increase the depth of the cavity for a second but the length/depth was fine. However it turned out they we set too close together so I had to hog out the island a bit to fit that one. I used a Dremel and a burr bit to buzz out the notch between the red arows then I did the same on the other side where the green paint is:

Then I popped 'em in and put it all back together. I went and plugged it in and boom, nothing. I double checked my handiwork and I had done everything just as the Gibson website said. So I had to use my head for a second and fiddle around a little but I got working after a few minutes. I think it looks keen:

Now I just have to intonate it. Which may be difficult. It's my first time!

Anyone know anything about Winston Guitars? Apparently it's from the 60's and the dude wants $85. I'm thinking about going to take a look and offering him less to have a junker around. I just thought it looked kinda cool.

Yeah AC/DC sometimes has their slow moments but that's not what I focus on. I focus on shit like this:

Most people who listened to the band before that song came out consider it to be a turd.

And no Phil Rudd = no AC/DC

AC/DC is band with an amazingly rich history. To "focus" on that is to have missed the boat.

Same actually, although I loved Live at Donnington (where that clip is from I think) as a kid. Rented it like 5 times in the 8th grade. Ah, the bad old days.

Not too keen on Live Wire either though. Shot Down in Flames is pretty much my ideal AC/DC song. Funny, self-depricating lyrics and uptempo facerocking over Bon Scott vocals.

Well that's your call kiddo. I still have an old non-working Silvertone someone gave me because the rectifier blew and they don't make replacements anymore. There's just no way to fix it. It's your amp and you can do what you want with it but for posterity's sake think about it

Sweet pedals Pops. I have a crappy Dunlop reissue fuzzface that needs upgrading. I think I may just swap out the transistors for gain-matched silicon as I think they got the rest of the circuit right? I know it's true bypass at least.

posterity is the reason I'm not going to get rid of like 50+ caps. I'll go through the thing and replace only parts that no longer work.
