even if you can't do it yourself, replacing an input jack is generally one of the cheapest things to fix.

it may not need to be replaced. It really depends on what kind it is.
So you must either mean "may not be replaceable" or "may not need to be replaced".
Please pick one.
*edit* thank you
I own the Vox AC15CC1 and was wondering what you guys would recommend for a good hard rock distortion. I own a TS9 and a Boss Metal Zone, I run the Zone into the TS9 and out to the amp (I figured this was the best chain of command but if anybody has a different way they recommend I'm all ears). I heard the MI Audio Crunch Box is a good choice but not sure if it would be best suited for this amp.
Thanks, I'm looking for a bit more grit with more sustain (for this one song) then what the amp is giving me... I'll try alternating the peddle chain and see if that helps.
a more helpful answer (maybe)
you may not want to use a straight up distortion box. A distortion box is going to be distorted at all times. Even when plucking 1 string. IMO, that isn't very versatile.
There are other options for adding distortion on a tube amp. Fuzz pedals and over drive pedals are a few. Your DS9 is a type of overdrive. As per the name, it helps to over drive the tubes. A fuzz pedal on the other hand is kind of like an extra pre amp stage, but it is easier to push to distort. BTW the first led zep album was recorded with a fuzz, a tele and a supro amp.
But I'd try turning everything on the amp up to ten and seeing how that sounds. Roll back the volume knob on the guitar until it kind of sounds right and then play with the amp knobs just a tad.
I own a burns Brian May model guitar and a SX (Strat knock off/Rondo music special:)) which surprisingly isn't bad for a $110 guitar.
May get this guy some day in the future.
thanks for the tips, I'm gonna play around with it tonight.
>_> how much sustain do you get with the Brain May guitar?
